There is a demand to ensure government security on e-commerce platforms in the country. The demand was made at a press conference held at Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) on Sunday.

At the same time, the press conference demanded the release of Mohammad Russel, CEO and Shamima Nasrin, Chairman of Evaly, along with making the e-commerce platform license mandatory from the Commerce Ministry.

The organizers presented these demands by introducing themselves as Evaly merchants and consumers at the event.

Nasir Uddin who claimed to be an Evaly's merchant at the press conference said Evaly CEO Russel has been detained for just a few allegations. As a result, the merchants and consumers of Evaly are suffering.

The press conference also demanded that Evaly CEO Russel be given the opportunity to conduct business with surveillance, give Russell time to deliver ordered products before the escrow system is launched and form a coordination committee of e-CAB, Payment Gateway, Merchant and Consumer Representatives under the Commerce Ministry.
